Christian started her life in humble beginnings. She grew up in rural Maine, living off the land with no running water or electricity. She grew up with hard work being a part of her everyday life. She grew up needing to problem solve and be resourceful. And, she grew up in an environment where quitting because something was difficult wasn’t an option.
If you have seen Christian try a case or argue a motion, you have seen these skills and this driving force in action. No case is too hard. No client is too difficult. If there is a wrong that needs to be made right, Christian finds a way to overcome these challenges to tell her client’s story. For better or worse for her work/life balance, Christian rarely turns down the opportunity to help clients in need. She signs up clients with motions for summary judgment pending because the prior attorney dropped the client when things got tough…and WINS.
She is often the third, fourth or fifth attorney on a difficult case, and she takes the case to trial…and WINS. She is often called by other attorneys on the eve of trial to take over an “impossible case,” and she takes the case to trial…and WINS. She wins because she is a great attorney. But, she is a great attorney because she legitimately cares about her clients and about giving them a voice no matter how big or small the case may be. Christian is a Managing Partner of her firm, a wife, a mother, a mentor, and a great friend, and somehow she still manages to be in trial every couple of months.
Christian’s advocacy skills and great lawyering not only help her clients, but they help her fellow NJA members as well. Christian volunteers her time helping to ensure that all Nevadans and Americans have equal access to the courtroom—and a level playing field once they get there. She does this by serving on NJA’s Legislative Committee, helping to draft the bills presented to the Nevada Legislature, and lobbying and testifying on behalf of those bills. She is also a Nevada representative for American Association for Justice. Last year, she traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with Nevada’s congressional delegation to discuss federal bills that affect consumers and plaintiffs around the country.
Christian is not just a remarkable trial attorney. She is a remarkable person. I am lucky and honored to call her my friend and mentor. And, I am even more honored to call her Nevada Justice Association’s 2019 Trial Lawyer of the Year! Congratulations, Christian!
